US 32
US 34In Illinois, US 34 goes from the Mississippi River by Burlington, Iowa to Berwyn, an inner western Chicago suburb. US 34 passes through the booming western suburbs of Chicago, but other than that, Galesburg is the only other larger city it passes through in Illinois. That said, it passes not too far west of the heavily populated Illinois River valley towns around La Salle and Peru.US 34 has been in Illinois since its inception in 1926 replacing parts of Illinois 8 and Illinois 28, but the part of US 34 from Princeton to Chicago was once US 32 and before that Illinois 18. US 34 took over that route in 1934. US 34 passes through four states and ultimately ends up in Granby, Colorado. |
