US 14
US 20US 20 in Illinois starts at the Iowa line in East Dubuque and goes to the Indiana line on the south side of Chicago. It stays close to the northern edge of the state and passes through Rockford and Chicago. In Chicagoland, it begins in Elgin, heads southeast and south through the northwestern and western suburbs before heading east to the Indiana line via some south suburbs and the City of Chicago. The only two freeway segments are around Rockford and Elgin, but much of the highway in Chicagoland is on surface streets. Through the northwest part of the state, it passes through the picturesque rolling hills around Galena.On a national scale, US 20 begins in Newport Oregon and ends in Boston passing through ten states. |
