Illinois State Route 83Illinois 83 goes from the Wisconsin line at Antioch to Lynwood near the Indiana line forming an L shaped route on the western and southern sides of Chicago. The general route jogs around a bit, but there are some a few areas of particular note. One is a portion in Du Page County where route 83 is an expressway known as the Kingery Highway. Another is the part near O'Hare Airport where it also follows major roadways. Other parts are less important, but despite the many changes in direction, Illinois 83 follows mainly busy roads.The original Illinois 83 went from New Boston to a point a few miles west of Galva. This is now part of Illinois 17. |
