Illinois State Route 23Illinois 23 goes from Harvard south to Pontiac west of Chicagoland. Although it runs a good distance it is not a truly major route. One evidence is that of the three Interstate routes it crosses, there is only one that has an interchange with Illinois 23 (I-80). The original routing of route 23 from the 1920s is similar to the current one, but it only extended as far south as Streator. It also went up to the Wisconsin line on current US 14. |
