Illinois State Route 9Illinois route 9 runs from the Mississippi River Bridge/route 96 east of Fort Madison, Iowa to the Indiana state line at Indiana SR 352/Indiana SR 26. It passes through Pekin and Bloomington/Normal on its run across the entire state. The current route 9 closely follows the original routing from the 1920s. The only major cities it goes through are Pekin and Bloomington/Normal. The Mississipi River bridge is an old and narrow, double deck train and auto swing bridge. |
