Illinois State Route 2Illinois route 2 goes southwest from South Beloit to Sterling in northern Illinois closely following the Rock River. Before the East-West Tollway was built across the state, Illiois 2 extended to Rock Island (until the 1970s).The original route 2 went from South Beloit to Cairo and became US 51 in the 1920s. |
