US 52Currently, US 52 angles northwest to southeast from near Cincinnati to south of Chicago. Much of the route in Indiana is divided, but those parts are also largely multiplexed. Only the part from US 41 to Lebanon is both multilane and only signed as US 52. Around Indianapolis, US 52 follows the eastern and northern legs of I-465 on to I-865. It originally followed the southern and western legs of I-465.US 52 is an original US highway route. Between 1926 and 1934, it ended at its meeting place with US 41 in Indiana. By 1935 it was extended all the way to Portal, North Dakota at the US/Canada border. |
