Indiana Highway Ends

SR 121

State Road 121 SR 121 consists of two discontiguous sections in eastern Indiana. In the early days of the present Indiana highway system, Indiana 21 took a northwest/southeast routing across the state, from SE of Richomond to Peru (and could have easily gone up to Plymouth, if not South Bend, if not for US 31). Both of these routes served as branch routes off Indiana 21 (though in different ways) and still exist today, outliving the original Indiana 21. The north-south poriton of Indiana 121 works along the lines of Indiana 110 and 124 today -- as a shorter, parallel routing to 21. However, it is much more a branch of Indiana 1, and could easily be linked to Indiana 229 without much of a disturbance (outside of the cost of resigning a stretch of road). The east-west portion of this route, while much closer to historic Indiana 21, actually works as one of three three-digit roads that shares its number with an Ohio Road (along with Indiana 120 and Historic Indiana 122).
