State Road 107The segment of existing SR 62 west of Madison from SR 56 north to old US 421 (Michigan Road) was originally signed as SR 107. Upon completion of new US 421, and to limit the confusion of routes travelling through the city, the State Highway Commission approved an action to renumber SR 107 as SR 62 (essentially creating a SR 62 Bypass of Madison). A remaining 0.63 mile segment of SR 107 which ran over Michigan Road (Old US 421) from SR 62 to NCL of Madison was, by agreement relinquished to the City on 3/21/94. The remaining 1.01 mile segment of SR 107 running over Michigan Road (old US 421) from the NCL of the City of Madison to current junction with US 421 was, by agreement, relinquished to Jefferson County on March 21, 1996. |

Looking north on an old alignment into US 421. The road to the present intersection was realigned when the US 421 bypass was built. It can be seen that it is cut off from the current highway. |
