SR 43

State Road 43 SR 43 is a discontinuous route that consists of two sections, but originally, it consisted of significant portions of current US 421 and US 231 in a single, long route. The current sections are: One connecting Reynolds (US 421) and West Lafayette (US 231) One consisting of a narrow, winding road west of Bloomington that connects SR 46 and SR 54 that avoids any large or mid-sized cities. The furthest south SR 43 went was when it went down to SR 450 in the 1930s. It also went to Michigan City to the north. It was signed south of Lafayette to the current southern section until the late 1970s.
