State Road 38

SR 38 now has a single continuous section after a short time where it ended and picked up on both sides of Pendleton. It now multiplexes with I-69, SR 9, and SR 67 to bypass the center of Pendleton. The gap was created in December, 2004 when the section through Pendleton was decommissioned. The decommission request was made by the City of Pendleton so they could better control truck traffic through the town.

SR 38 has a general direction of travel that is is west-northwest to east-southeast. It starts in Lafayette at US 52 and ends at US 35 in Richmond although posted signage shows it ending at I-70.

By and large, SR 38 is a two lane road except in the larger cities such as Lafayette and Noblesville and where it multiplexes with highways around Pendleton.

The signs are consistent, but apparently consistently wrong. This is looking east approaching US 35.
