Indiana Highway Ends

State Road 28 SR 28 crosses the central part of the state and is a most tenacious road in that it comes across three US routes (US 41, 421 and 35) that take over its route for a few miles. Yet it manages to make it across the state as a continuous route - probably because these are north-south routes and Indiana tends to prefer a multiplex where one route is going the actual posted direction. The only substantial part that is divided is from Frankfort to I-65 in Clinton County. In the early 1930s, the eastern stretch near Union City followed the current route of SR 32. By 1935, it was moved north to the current routing.
