Indiana Highway Ends

SR 11

State Road 11 SR 11 is a discontinuous route that has two sections in the southern half of the state. Most of the northern section was previously posted as US 31A. In the 1970s, the existing stretch from US 50 to SR 250 was merged with US 31A from Columbus to Seymour. The the most northern stretch of this section from US 31 to SR 46 was later decommissioned in 1999. The southern portion was formerly numbered SR 33 before US 33 was extended into Indiana in 1935. Indiana did not allow a state and US highway to have the same number until US 131 came into the state. This southern section is generally minor: the north part closely parallels I-65, and the south part is a winding, narrow road going through a lightly populated area west of Louisville, Kentucky. It ends at SR 135 by the Ohio River.
